How do you all cope with the loss of a piggy?

One of my piggies suffered from a stroke which paralyzed her back legs. Through the night she suffered another stroke and unfortunately did not recover. I am devastated but reassured knowing that she is not in pain anymore.

This was my first loss and I did not realize how hard it would be. The saddest part is that she was less than a year old and there was nothing I could have done for her. I took her to the vet after the first stroke and we worked so hard to help her fight but she could not do it any longer.

I cannot help but blame myself. How do you guys cope with the loss of a piggy? I have 2 more piggies that are as crazy as ever and that makes me happy but I am still struggling.

How do you guys deal with this? Any tips? I rescued this guinea pig from a man who no longer wanted her so therefore I do not know much of her genetic history but I am dissapointed that I could not give her the life she deserved.
Awww so sad! Whenever I lose a piggy for the first day or so, what helps me is to just at first not think about it. I read a book or something and just keep busy. I get another pig as soon as I can, not to replace the old one just to give me a new friend to take care off. this helps me to move on, and though i always will miss my little friend, I can sill have new ones. I have this box of memories that I keep little things like paw prints, a lock of hair, and I want add a pictures. Whenever I especially miss a piggy, I look in there.
